STUDIES ON SERUM PROTEIN PARTITION BY PAPER ELECTROPHORESIS

Abstract
|
|
|
For the purpose of determining the meal patterns of serum protein partitions in normal young Koreans, 100 cases of 73 males and 27 females, between ages of 19 to 29 years were studies by means of Spinco Model R Paper Electrophoresin System.
Following are the results:
1. Total serum protein values ranged from 5.50 to 8.45(6.99±0.53) gm.% 6.05-8.45(7.07±0.46) gm.% in males and 5.50-8.05(6.77±0.50)gm.% in females.
2. Serum albumin values ranged from 51.08 to 70.54(60.18±4.46), 51.08-66.99(58.94±3.92)% in males and 56.34-70.54(63.53±3.87)% in females.
3. Serum α_(1)-globulin values ranged from 1.97to 5.77(3.75±0.26)%, 1.97-5.77(3.87±0.22)% in males and 2.23-4.17(3.79±0.21)% in females.
4. SErum α_(2)-globulin values ranged from 4.54to 11.11(6.82±1.52)%m 4.54-11.11(6.88±1.42)% in males and 4.62-9.52(6.65±1.20)% in females.
5. Serum β-globulin values ranged from 6.94-14.63(10.39±1.87)%, 7.55-15.22(10.95±1.86)% in males and 6.94-12.13(8.87±1.11)% in females.
6. Serum γ_-globulin values ranged from 13.11-24.50(18.95±1.95)% 13.11-23.86(19.48±2.34)% in males and 13.33-24.50(17.52±2.60)% in females.
7. Serum A/G ratio ranged from 1.03 to 2.39 (1.54±0.28), 1.03-2.08(1.46±0.26) in males and 1.29-2.39(1.77±0.29) in females.
8. No differences were observed in serum protein partitions on the basis of sex.
